Service Public distinguishes controlled medicines from ordinary medicines and separates arrival from Schengen countries from other arrivals. Its customs guidance recommends travelling with your prescription.

Write down the country you depart from, any intermediate stops and the medicine involved. Use those details when reading the relevant official section. Do not interpret the existence of a medical route as approval of every cannabis product or every proposed journey.

For departure, identify the right authority

For French residents travelling with controlled medicines, ANSM directs Schengen certificate requests to the ARS where the prescriber is registered; ANSM handles certificates for destinations outside Schengen.

Before choosing a form, make a simple itinerary with departure, transit and destination in separate rows. Ask which procedure covers each part. Keep your question focused on the prescribed product and trip rather than requesting an unspecified “European cannabis card.”

Understand the Schengen document

The official French form for transport of certain controlled medicines is Cerfa 10083*03. Service Public identifies the regional health agency, ARS, as the recipient.

Use the official form page to check the current version. Compare your name, dates and medicine description across your records before submitting anything. Keep the authority’s response with the final document, and ask whether a changed itinerary needs a fresh application. A CannaCards card is a separate membership document.

Prepare the legal issue, not a general debate

If you need advice about an event in France, prepare the place, date, sequence of events and any document or deadline. Choose the three questions whose answers will change your next step. For example: which procedure applies, who should receive a response, and whether further representation would be needed.

Explain your preferred language when requesting a callback. If your residence differs from the country of the issue, enter them separately. Send a short routing message first; keep detailed medical records for the appropriate private professional channel.
